Events
During Fifth Year, the Room of Requirement hosted the first meetings of Dumbledore’s Army. After one of the students hinted at this to Umbridge, the Inquisitorial Squad raided the room. Malfoy was among them, and he used his knowledge of the Room to his advantage the next year. It became his workshop. Malfoy provided a means of transportation into the castle that the wards couldn’t prevent, allowing Death Eaters to enter Hogwarts. The Room also served to hide Professor Trelawney’s sherry bottles, provided a place for Dobby to put Winky to sleep, and opened for Professor Dumbledore when he got lost looking for the toilet.

Secrets and Spells
The Room of Requirement is my favorite example of Hogwarts’ magic. It responds to the needs and commands of its occupants, and does so with a sense of humor and certain irony.
The entrance to the Gryffindor common room is guarded by a portrait of a “very fat woman in a pink silk dress”. Like the rest of the portraits at Hogwarts, the Fat Lady can talk. Seventh Floor
